We provide butchery training courses to chefs and the catering industry
Sustainability
Freeman Catering Butchers has a responsibility as a company to care for the environment. This responsibility forms an essential part of how we operate and reflects our support for the principle of sustainable development.
Effeciency And Sustainability
We recognise that as suppliers to the foodservice industry, using local produce is a sustainable priority. We have always been and remain committed to using local produce where possible, and encourage all customers and suppliers to buy local.
We are keen to reduce unnecessary food waste through enhancing customer knowledge. We provide butchery training courses at a reduced rate to all customers, to improve knowledge and appreciation for meat, and to allow for more informed buying.
Efficiency savings are suggested through seasonal special offers, product analysis and menu development activity.
Corporate Social Responsibility
Freeman Catering Butchers have a CSR policy focused on the catering industry. We are involved with the North East Catering Trade Association (NECTA) and provide butchery training courses to chefs and the catering industry.
In addition we have a recycling policy, with all paper and cardboard waste recycled. Efficient lighting systems are used, where there is not a risk to staff safety.
Ethical Procurement
All suppliers are required to conform to the standards set out in our quality assurance manual. This excludes the use of suppliers who use unethical practice. Should Freeman Catering Butchers suspect any supplier of unethical practices an investigation would be undertaken, and alternative supplier sourced if required.
