Freeman Catering Butchers supply high quality meat throughout the North of England and Scotland. The company has earned a reputation for product and service excellence, and is proud to be the National Catering Butcher of the Year.

Established as a family business in 1953, the company is managed by James and Daniel Freeman, the grandsons of the founder, who launched the business as a local butcher shop in South Shields, Tyne & Wear, with a commitment to quality service and produce that underpins the company’s business philosophy to this day.

The business is still based in Tyne & Wear, but has grown significantly and operates from somewhat larger premises! In September 2008 the company invested heavily in plant and production efficiency improvements relocating to a 9,500 square foot state of the art factory in Team Valley, Gateshead.

The new plant allowed the company to significantly increase production capacity and the new location near the A1 has vastly improved access to clients across the North of England and Scotland.
